Pay: $35.00 per hour
Tutor.com is hiring High-Dosage Tutors for small-group, in-person sessions with K–12 students. This is a daytime, scheduled-hours position perfect for retired and former teachers, substitute teachers, or anyone with mathematics subject-matter expertise who is looking for an in-person tutoring role in a school.
Major Responsibilities:
- Tutor small groups of students in a school setting.
- Meet with the same group of students, multiple times per week at a scheduled time during the regular school day concurrent with the academic term.
- Engage students using online tools such as an interactive whiteboard.
- Utilize student assessment data to determine gaps in knowledge.
- Deliver provided standards-aligned digital curriculum.
- Provide quality reports on student achievement to Tutor.com staff, teachers, and school administrators.
- Collaborate with instructional specialists to advance instructional practices and deliver high-quality tutoring.
Requirements:
- Residency in and eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Ability to be on campus in Dallas, Texas, three to five (3-5) days per week during school hours.
- Availability to tutor up to 25 hours per week during the school day. (Schedule may change slightly from semester to semester. Available working hours are subject to change.)
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge in mathematics, particularly algebra.
- Participation in training and professional development to understand and apply the methodology of High-Dosage Tutoring.
- Capability to change approach as necessary to ensure student engagement and understanding.
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Possession of a four-year degree (or higher) from an accredited university.
A teaching certificate is not required. Candidates with a background as a math teacher or math tutor in a high school or middle school are preferred.
