The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) honors Tutor.com For Military Families at Annual Symposium

ATLANTA, GA, March 8, 2017 – The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) recognized Tutor.com as the recipient of the 2017 CCME Corporate Award for its exceptional service to Military Service members and their families. The award was presented yesterday to Pamela Brehm, Senior Director, Military & Federal Programs at Tutor.com, by Franc Lopez, President of the CCME during the CCME Annual Professional Development symposium Awards Luncheon in Atlanta, Georgia.

Started in 2008, the Department of Defense-funded Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families program (www.tutor.com/military) has delivered more than 2.5 million one-to-one online tutoring sessions to military-connected students around the world.

Tutor.com for U.S. Military Families (www.tutor.com/military, funded by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CMGA), is a program that allows eligible U.S. Military Service members and their grades K-12 children to connect to a live tutor online at any time for one-to-one help with homework, studying, test prep, proofreading and more at no cost. Eligible military-connected students worldwide can connect to an expert tutor on-demand from any internet-enabled device, including smartphones and tablets 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 361 days a year. Students can get personalized help in 40 Math, Science, Social Studies, English and World Language subjects, including Algebra, Calculus, Writing, Physics, History, Spanish, and Statistics. Every tutoring session is anonymous between the tutor and student, and takes place in a secure online classroom that uses file sharing, text chat and an interactive whiteboard.
CCME is an active proponent for the professional development of those serving in the military education community by providing a forum for the exchange of information on educational programs, strategies and innovation among its members and associated partners. CCME membership is composed of military educators, civilian educators, post secondary educational institutions, and suppliers of quality education products and services. CCME's mission is to promote and provide educational programs and services and to facilitate communication between the membership and the DoD educational support network.
