"Together with our more than 3,000 dedicated tutors who provide services to learners of all ages and educational stages, we are truly honored to receive a Platinum award in this year's Modern Library Awards program," said Sandi White, Tutor.com's Vice President and General Manager. "We salute LibraryWorks for hosting this program, and thank the many librarians who participated as judges for their time and unbiased consideration of the nominated products and services."
"It’s hardly a surprise that Tutor.com scored so well," said Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager. "Tutor.com has been at the forefront of this industry for the last two decades."
The MLAs are selected via a rigorous, unbiased process. Products and services are submitted for consideration in the fall via a simple application, and then posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. The applications for 2021 were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K–12, academic, and special libraries. Only those with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the nominated products/services. Each judge scored the product/service from 1–10 on a series of questions regarding the quality, functionality, value, customer service, and overall satisfaction with the product or service.
"We are honored to support librarians whose work plays such a vital role in the education, enrichment, and personal advancement of learners across the U.S.," Sandi White added. "Their service has been all the more essential during the past year due to Covid-related academic and professional disruptions. We look forward to continuing and expanding our support of library partners in 2021 and beyond."
