Paterson Public Schools Launches Round-the-Clock Online Tutoring for High School Students
District Partners With Tutor.com to Provide 24/7 Student Academic Support
NEW YORK and PATERSON, October 12, 2021 /— District officials announced a new online tutoring service that is now available to Paterson’s nearly 6,000 public high school students round-the-clock at no cost to them. This academic support has been made available through a district partnership with Tutor.com, an affiliate of The Princeton Review®. Through the partnership, expert tutors are available 24/7, and 1-to-1 tutoring for each student is unlimited.
“We have noted on many occasions that one of the district’s greatest silver linings has been the closing of the digital divide – providing every student with internet access and a device. With the digital divide closed, we are now able to provide our high school students with round-the-clock online tutoring,” said Superintendent of Schools Eileen F. Shafer. “This is something that would not have been possible two years ago. Our expectation is that, with this academic support available to our students, we will see a greater degree of academic success among our high school students.”
“We are proud and honored to partner with the district of Paterson to promote equity and opportunity for their high school students,” said Sandi White, SVP, Institutional, Tutor.com. “In collaborating with district leaders to customize this program, we have admired—and share—their commitment to ensuring that all students have unrestricted access to individualized support so they can achieve their academic goals.”

Paterson Public Schools stands out as one of only 17 districts in New Jersey to offer the competitive International Baccalaureate program, and one of only four districts with a P-TECH high school, a program that, in collaboration with IBM and Passaic County Community College, graduates students with an associate degree in applied science and practical tech sector experience.
