Although education was not my field of study, I have tutored for several years. I tutored friends and classmates throughout my own school experience and also tutored college students at a community college. Later, I became the coordinator of tutoring and testing services at that same college. I have tutored various subjects such as English, psychology, history and French, but math has always been my first love.
I've always worked in helping fields, and tutoring gives me the opportunity to work one-on-one with students to meet their individual needs. It is a joy when students have that "light bulb" moment and finally get it. I even had an adult student tell me once that I saved his life by helping him with algebra.
